WPC 56 (BBC-1 Crime Drama, Jennie Jacques, Claudia Jessie)

Daytime drama WPC 56 was set in the 1950’s, ala Call The Midwife and in the first two seasons starring Jennie Jacques as WPC Gina Dawson who is trying to make a career in the police force at a time when it was completely male dominated. The third and final season saw the departure of Gina and the arrival of new WPC Annie Taylor (Claudia Jessie).

The series began with a murder investigation and an assault on a young woman but the second and third seasons went for more involved storylines involving corruption at a high level.
