Informer (BBC-1 2018, Paddy Considine, Bel Powley)

Crime thriller Informer follows Counter-Terrorism officer Gabe who persuades second generation Pakistani man Raza to become a “snout” (informer) for him. Gabe has something of a past that he is trying to keep hidden, he also has a partner, Holly, whose curiosity about Gabe’s past threatens to unravel them both.

As the central counterterrorism investigation heats up, the stakes for all three get higher and higher. Informer tells a story about identity in a world where lines are increasingly being drawn and sides are being taken. What happens when you, or your friends, family or neighbours fall on the wrong side of that line and the personal becomes political?

Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani say: “It’s every writer’s dream to watch their creations come to life, and we’re beyond fortunate to do so with a phenomenal cast and crew, and such esteemed and supportive partners as Neal Street, BBC and Amazon. We haven’t been able to stop pinching ourselves.”
