Joan And Leslie (ITV 1955-1958, Leslie Randall, Joan Reynolds)

Sitcom telling of episodes in the domestic life of real life husband and wife team of Leslie Randall and Joan Leslie. Most of the series was shown fortnightly.

Initially the series was known as Leslie Randall Entertains but halfway through season two (8 Apr 1956) changed to Joan and Leslie. Some of season two was broadcast from the stage of the Hackney Empire in London. So successful were the couple that they basically transplanted the format to a long running series of commercials for Fairy Snow washing powder. These ran throughout the 1960’s.

Although this series wrapped up in March 1958, the couple were back on the air that summer in a new series called The Randall Touch.

In 1969 the couple made an Australian series also called Joan and Leslie featuring Leslie as a journalist working in Melbourne. This ran for 12 episodes.
