Steel River Blues (ITV1 2004, Daniel Casey, Clare Buckfield)

Steel River Blues was a drama set in Middlesbrough Fire station. Bill McGlinchy arrives from Ireland to take his first station commander post in charge of Blue Watch and has to rely on the experience and local knowledge of the established team some of whom think the top job should have gone to one of them.

The fire fighters of Blue Watch have to cope with the demands of the daily dangers that their jobs present with humour and grit. And with more inner city industry than any other town in the UK, Middlesborough can be known to present even the hardiest of fire fighters with taxing shouts.
