The Brothers: End Of A Dream (BBC-1 8 June 1975)

In End of a Dream Ted and Jenny throw a house warming party after moving into their new home but still at loggerheads with Mary don’t invite her. Clare is also rather put out when Merroney turns up with a new woman in tow. Meanwhile her relationship with David seems to be growing somewhat too. Later a visit to the doctors spells bad news for Jennifer’s hopes of having a baby.

Another great episode with Ted and Jen well to the fore, Jenny is naturally distraught at the Doctors news that she is unable to have any more children but the episode ends on a positive note with Ted putting forward the gratefully received idea of adoption. Meanwhile there is a small guest appearance by Rula Lenska as Merroney’s date and a very large guest appearance from Kate O’Mara’s cleavage in the dress she almost wears to the house warming party. There is a really nice sparky relationship developing between Jane Maxwell and ex-husband Don Stacey, it is clear that they both still like each other very much, something Gwen Riley says to them in the episode too.
