Michael Strahan, co-anchor of ABC News’ “Good Morning America,” travels to Easter Island, a remote volcanic island in Polynesia, to investigate how climate change is impacting the island’s environment, people, and future. He learns about the heritage, beauty, and stone statues, called moai, while connecting with local generations to gain insight into their culture. As part of ABC News’ on-going “Climate Crisis” series, Michael Strahan visits Easter Island to study the effects of climate change on the island’s atmosphere, inhabitants, and prospects. He explores the culture, grandeur, and stone sculptures, known as moai, while connecting with the island’s people to gain an appreciation for their heritage. Additionally, Strahan examines the impact of plastics in the ocean, which are deteriorating into microplastics and endangering the waters and local population. On February 28th and March 2nd, he will co-host live broadcasts from the Chilean island on ABC.
