James is the first HIV-positive newly licenced pilot in the UK and Europe, but he had to fight to change the rules after being told he couldn’t get a medical clearance at first. James accomplishes another first in this episode when he lands in Heathrow, one of the biggest and busiest airports in the world.
It’s a high point of his career, but he explains that another obstacle still stands in his way: because of his HIV status James can’t fly alone or become an instructor. Never one to let his HIV status be a barrier, he sets his sights on mounting another challenge.

Meanwhile Omar undergoes his final set of training and exams, but as graduation day looms he wonders whether he has done enough to make the grade.
