What can we expect from this episode

The first live show of Strictly Come Dancing 2023 features Tess and Claud’s return and an incredible group performance by our professional dancers, who show the brand new cast how it’s done.

The 15 couples compete in front of Strictly Come Dancing’s judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and head judge Shirley Ballas, for the first time ever in a live broadcast.

Even though there isn’t a popular vote, the judges are still allowed to use their paddles. Next week, viewers will have another chance to vote for their favourite couple based on their scores from tonight.

Are today’s celebrities fleet of foot or do they have two left feet? That’s the question Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be finding the answer to when they present Strictly Come Dancing.
