Vita and Virginia (2018, Gemma Arterton, Elizabeth Debicki)
1920’s set Period drama Vita and Virginia tells the never less than fascinating true story about the love affair between socialite and popular author Vita Sackville-West and literary icon Virginia Woolf. Both Gemma Arterton and Elizabeth Debicki are fabulous in the lead roles. The script (based on letters written by Virginia and Vita) is by actress Eileen Atkins who has long had a fascination for the story of the pair.
The relationship between Vita and her husband Sir Harold Nicholson was previously dramatised in the 1990 BBC drama Portrait of a Marriage. Both Eva Green and Andrea Riseborough signed on to play Virginia but both ending up dropping out.
