On Wednesday, May 10, CBS Mornings welcomes Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, co-stars of the Netflix series “Bridgerton,” for an exclusive on-set interview with senior culture correspondent Anthony Mason.
Coughlan, an Irish actress, portrays Penelope Featherington in “Bridgerton,” a reluctant debutante and the youngest daughter of a newly rich family in Regency-era London. She is also known for her role as Clare Devlin in the Channel 4 sitcom “Derry Girls.” Coughlan also stars in the Channel 4 sitcom “Big Mood” opposite Lydia West.
Newton, an English actor, plays Colin Bridgerton, the third eldest Bridgerton son. He is also known for his roles in The Lodge and The Cut. In addition to his acting career, Newton formed the boy band South 4 and has trained at the London School of Musical Theatre.
“Bridgerton” is a Shondaland-produced Netflix period drama based on Julia Quinn’s Regency romance book series. The third season, which will be released in two parts in 2024, features Coughlan and Newton in leading roles, marking a departure from the source material where their characters lead the fourth novel, “Romancing Mr. Bridgerton.”
CBS Mornings airs weekdays at 7:00-9:00 AM on CBS.
