Channel 5 Announce “Bradley Walsh: Legends of Comedy”
Actor, presenter, comedian, and singer Bradley Walsh is making a comeback to his comedic roots in a new series called “Bradley Walsh: Legends of Comedy.” The show, which will consist of three 90-minute episodes, has been commissioned by Channel 5 and Paramount+. It will be produced by Honey Bee.
Over the past 40 years, Bradley has been a prominent figure in British comedy. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to meet and be inspired by some of the greatest comedy legends in the world. In this series, Bradley will celebrate these comedy heroes and heroines, reflecting on their work and the joy and laughter they brought to audiences.
From sitcoms to stand-up acts to double acts, Bradley will share his personal selection of all-time comedy legends and present his theory on why they are the best. Throughout the series, he will interview friends and fellow comedians such as Alexander Armstrong, Omid Djalili, Jo Brand, Stephen K Amos, Su Pollard, Alison Steadman, and Les Dennis. Together, they will unravel the genius of comedy greats like Tommy Cooper, Lee Mack, Victoria Wood, Bob Monkhouse, Little and Large, and Morecambe & Wise. The show will also revisit classic comedy moments from sitcoms like “Hi Di Hi,” “Dad’s Army,” “Blackadder,” and “Absolutely Fabulous.” Essentially, this series will provide Bradley Walsh’s insider perspective on his comedy legends.
Bradley Walsh says: “Having spent the last 40 years of my life working in comedy, it’s been wonderful speaking to some of my favourite people about our favourite comedians who have inspired us throughout our careers. We have a wealth of comedy talent in the UK and it’s a joy to celebrate them all.”
Bradley Wash: Legends of Comedy (w/t), is a 3 x 90’ series commissioned by Guy Davies, Commissioning Editor, Non-Scripted UK Originals, Channel 5 & Paramount+ and Produced by Honey Bee. It will be Directed by Christian Watt and Executive Produced by Ed Taylor, Bradley Walsh, Les Keen and Ros Edwards.
The series is due to air on Channel 5 in the coming months.
