In the Tuesday 28 May episode of Coronation Street, Nina updates Carla and Bobby on Roy’s legal situation, informing them that a date for his trial will be announced soon. DS Swain questions Carla about her strained relationship with Roy, but Carla is tight-lipped on the matter. However, when DS Swain is overheard arguing with her daughter on the phone, Carla steps in to offer support. Lisa opens up to Carla about her partner’s death and how her daughter is struggling to cope with the grief.
Taking a proactive approach, DS Swain visits Roy in prison and directly addresses the elephant in the room—she wants to know if the fallout between him and Carla is in any way related to Bobby’s statement. Later, in a surprising turn of events, DS Swain arrests Bobby, suspecting him of perverting the course of justice. Swain also warns Carla that Bobby’s lies are doing more harm than good, especially for Roy.
Meanwhile, Kit makes a disturbing discovery in Nathan’s van—some USB sticks—leading to Nathan’s arrest on suspicion of breaching his sexual harm prevention order. In a separate storyline, Griff is out for revenge and makes his way into Roy’s prison cell.
Coronation Street airs Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. on ITV1.
