In this installment, Zoey returns to Los Angeles to produce a California-themed fashion show, aiming to put her fashion brand, Anti-Muse, on the map. Her younger brother, Andre, eager to impress his sister, oversteps in his attempt to showcase his managerial skills. Meanwhile, Zoey and her ex-boyfriend, Aaron, navigate their post-breakup friendship, adding a layer of complexity to their dynamic.
The episode “California Love” continues the show’s exploration of Zoey’s journey beyond the confines of her family and her pursuit of personal and professional success.
The first four seasons focus on Zoey’s journey as she attends the fictional California University of Liberal Arts (Cal U) and befriends a diverse group of students. In the fifth season, the focus shifts to Zoey’s younger brother, Andre Johnson Jr. (Marcus Scribner), as he navigates college life after Zoey’s graduation.
