A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight” is an upcoming HBO series based on George R.R. Martin’sDunk and Egg” novellas, set in the world of his “”A Song of Ice and Fire” novels. The show will serve as a prequel to “Game of Thrones,” exploring the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg, a century before the events of the flagship series.

The series has received a straight-to-series order, with George R.R. Martin himself serving as a writer and executive producer. The show’s official logline teases a narrative set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon lingers. It promises great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits for the unlikely duo of Ser Duncan and Egg.
