In the sixteenth episode of Narrow Escapes, airing on Channel 4 on Monday 20 May, we set out on a journey along the River Lea, where we meet florist Roka, who eagerly awaits the bloom of her tulip bulbs on the roof of her boat, aptly named Leafy Lady.

Married couple Tracey and Tim, along with their assistance dogs, Lokie and Ozzie, are also featured as they reopen their dog treat business on the towpath for another season. Meanwhile, on the Oxford Canal, Jack and Gabby have embarked on an ambitious project: converting a narrowboat shell into their new environmentally sustainable home.

However, they face the challenging task of moving their new boat without an engine, bidding a temporary farewell to their previous boat, Flora.

The episode also includes a visit to the Pirate Castle team in Camden, who proudly showcase their fully accessible boat. This specially designed vessel enables wheelchair users and visitors with additional needs to experience and enjoy the beauty of London’s canals, ensuring that everyone can take part in the unique canal community.
