Missing Postman, The (BBC-1 1997, James Bolam, Alison Steadman)

The Missing Postman was a nicely played two part comedy drama. When he is forced into taking early retirement, Clive Peacock decides to deliver his last collection by hand, cycling the length of Britain to deliver his letters.

He becomes a folk hero when the press get hold of the story and chase him around the country, closely followed by the police (the post office having accused him of pinching their mail).
