Precious Bane (BBC-1 1989, Janet McTeer, John Bowe)

Period drama Precious Bane took us back to the 19th century where young Shropshire lass Prue Sarn, born with a hare lip, struggles to cope with the hardships of farm life. The BBC had previously serialised the story in 1957 with Daphne Slater in the lead role.
