Take A Girl Like You (BBC-1 2000, Sienna Guillory, Rupert Graves)

Period drama serial Take A Girl Like You was based on Kingsley Amis’s hugely popular novel.

In 1959 young virginal northern lass Jenny Bunn moves down to live in London and is soon falling prey to the lasciviousness attentions of the men she meets, especially teacher Patrick.

Brilliant casting and top notch production values made this a real treat. The book had previously been filmed in 1969 with Hayley Mills and a cast against type Oliver Reed.
