The Bed-Sit Girl (BBC Sitcom, Sheila Hancock, Dilys Laye)

In sitcom The Bed-Sit Girl young typist Sheila Ross (Sheila Hancock) harbours dreams of a better life, she shares a bed-sit with the glamourous Dilys (Dilys Laye), an air hostess.

There were a few changes for the second and final season. Dilys was replaced by Liz (Hi Hazell) and Derek Nimmo turned up as David, a neighbour and possible love interest.

The Bed-Sit Girl was another Ronald Wolfe and Ronald Chesney sitcom, they were quite prolific, they had another sitcom Meet The Wife on air at this time and Sheila Hancock had appeared in their earlier sitcom The Rag Trade.
