Sing If You Can (ITV1 2011, Keith Lemon, Stacey Solomon)

With Melvyn Bragg unavailable for this high brow look at the challenges of celebrity live singing the producers decided to hire comedian Keith Lemon (aka Leigh Francis) instead. Sing If You Can is probably the very definition of brash Saturday night prime time entertainment. The show sees two star teams try to deliver winning performances of modern hits and classic tracks while taking on funny challenges designed to distract them. Sort of like the old Channel Five show Night Fever meets Wipeout.

Lemon and co-host Stacey Solomon (who had previously won I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here) hold court over proceedings with all money won going to charity. Challenges include performing on top of a specially designed erupting volcano, singing while balancing on a wire which will drop at a random moment and even belting out a song

while having their chest waxed! Some of the games were designed purely to take the stars out of their comfort though such as making Swing singer Ray Quinn perform a rap song.

Those taking part include Brigitte Nielsen, Mikey Graham, Jedward, Antony Costa, Darren Gough, Chesney Hawkes, Brendan Cole, Camilla Kerslake, Lisa Maxwell, Jodie Prenger, Roxanne Pallett, Sinitta, Ricky Groves, Rodney Marsh, Tricia Penrose, Faye Tozer and Michelle Gayle.

Leigh Francis who is the man behind the mask of Keith Lemon has created an incredible character with this seventies-esque would be lothario. He is clearly insane!
