Today Tuesday 24 January 2023, there is a new episode of Defenders UK.

Episode 2 Trading Standards joins forces with Ed Sheeran’s manager to combat ticket touts who profit by the millions off of unsuspecting concertgoers. Their cybercrime squad uncovered a specific instance where tickets originally priced at £75 were being resold for thousands of pounds.

Two of the most prolific touts face charges of fraudulent trade and face possible jail time in the first prosecution of its kind. In the eyes of regular fans, this is a triumph.

Officers look into a separate case involving a couple who are bilking honest, hardworking people out of their pensions. The 245 victims of this pension cold-calling fraud are just the tip of the iceberg.
