“Four in a Bed” Checks into The Plough Inn, Ripple, 6 May 2024, Channel 4

The popular Channel 4 series “Four in a Bed” returns with a new week of competition as B&B owners open their doors and welcome fellow hosts for a unique stay. In this episode, airing on Monday, 6 May 2024, at 6 pm, husband and husband duo Roy and Brian kick things off at their establishment, The Plough Inn, located in the quaint village of Ripple in Kent.

The Plough Inn is a charming rural pub with a rich history, dating back to the reign of George the 1st. Built in 1725, it initially served as a farm dwelling before being transformed into a beer retailer and grocer in 1811. Over the years, it has undergone various changes, but one thing remains constant: its reputation as a friendly local pub with fantastic cask ales and delicious food.

A Warm Welcome

Roy and Brian aim to provide a “home away from home” experience for their guests. The inn boasts four beautifully decorated en-suite double rooms, each equipped with modern amenities, including TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. The hosts pride themselves on offering a friendly, personal, and unpretentious service, ensuring their guests can relax and unwind amidst the tranquil surroundings of Ripple.

As part of the “Four in a Bed” competition, Roy and Brian will not only be judged on the quality of their accommodation and cuisine but also on their hosting skills. The format of the show sees the B&B owners take turns staying at each other’s establishments, paying what they consider fair based on their overall experience. The winner is crowned the best value for money, with the establishment receiving the highest percentage of their charged rate declared victorious.

Simone and Anke enjoy their afternoon of seal spotting on the River Stour. However, an old bathmat discovered in their room could dent Roy and Brian’s chances of winning. Will the hosts be able to turn things around and impress their fellow B&B owners?
