Queens For The Night Premieres Saturday 5 November on ITV
A cast of famous people will channel their inner drag queens for one night only and discover their inner diva in a spectacular competition unlike any other. Later this year, Tuesday’s Child’s original and produced television series Queens For The Night will debut on ITV and ITV Hub.
This TV extravaganza celebrates the art and appeal of drag in spectacular style by giving a number of well-known faces the ultimate drag makeover.
Hosted by drag enthusiast Lorraine Kelly, the competition will feature a judging panel that includes Layton Williams, star of West End hit Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, and Spice Girl and pop icon Melanie C. Rob Beckett, world-renowned drag artist Courtney Act, and stand-up comedian Rob Beckett will also serve as judges.
Favorite from Coronation Street Simon Gregson, fitness guru Mr Motivator MBE, Love Island star and TV host Chris Hughes, Union J member and I’m A Celebrity runner-up George Shelley, actor and legendary soap star Adam Woodyatt, and England rugby player Joe Marler will all unleash their drag alter-egos in this one-off TV special.
Each would-be queen in this primetime celebrity drag competition is paired with their very own drag mentor as they strive to master this extraordinarily challenging art. Our would-be celebrities will need to master not only the highest heels, but also one of the distinctive disciplines that each drag performer will expertly execute, such as singing, dancing, lip-syncing, impressions, comedy, or Dragic! (Drag magic). Only one celebrity can be named the ultimate winner after performing live in front of a panel of distinguished judges and a live studio audience.
Some of the most successful drag queens in the industry will mentor each of the celebrities on the show. Our famous students will be guided and taught by Blu Hydrangea, Kitty Scott-Claus, La Voix, Myra DuBois, Astina Mandella, and Margo Marshall as they prepare and perfect their drag personas. The entire process, from mastering the killer heels to honing their comedic timing to creating a breathtaking character through costume and makeup, will be seen by viewers. For each of the celebrities, the process will culminate in a cabaret-style performance where they will display their newly acquired drag talents. Who will win the public’s hearts and be chosen as the winner by the studio audience?
