BBC Two’s Original Comedy “Henpocalypse!” Now Filming

The fresh new comedy Henpocalypse! is currently filming in Wirral and Snowdonia for the BBC. The series revolves around Zara, a bridezilla whose hen party is crashed by the end of the world. She and her fellow West Midlands working-class hens are fighting for their lives in a Welsh cottage as they wait out the collapse of civilization.

Our hens have to deal with the regular stresses of a hen party on top of fighting for survival in a post-apocalyptic wasteland using only their wits and a car full of hen party supplies. After hiding for weeks, they find that the male population has been practically eradicated. In addition, the chickens quickly realize that they are not alone; they face formidable opposition from a band of radicalised Pilates teachers.

Henpocalypse! (6×30) has been commissioned for BBC Two and BBC iPlayer by Jon Petrie, Director of Comedy Commissioning at the BBC. The Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Tanya Qureshi.
