Clarkson’s Farm, 22 April 2024, Channel 9, “Cowering”

In the latest free to air episode of Clarkson’s Farm, titled “Cowering,” airing on Channel 9 on Monday 22 April Jeremy Clarkson’s ongoing journey as an unlikely farmer sees him facing new challenges and adventures.

Following his foray into sheep farming in the previous season, Clarkson decides to diversify his farm’s revenue sources by investing in cattle. In “Cowering,” Clarkson purchases two heifers, Dini and Pepper, with the aim of producing beef to accompany his chilli sauce venture. However, he soon discovers that his cows possess a similar disregard for fencing as his sheep, leading to multiple escapes and invasions into neighbouring farms.

Clarkson, with the help of his trusted aide Kaleb, attempts to contain the cows, but the task proves difficult as the cows break through the wooden fence and make their way into the neighbouring fields. The situation is further complicated by the presence of an “attack cow,” which seems to harbour a particular grudge against Clarkson, chasing him and the cameraman whenever they get too close.

In addition to his cattle woes, Clarkson also explores chilli farming, deciding to grow Carolina Reapers due to their prolific nature. However, he soon discovers that the chillies are incredibly hot, even causing him to burp while being sick during a tasting session with chefs. Despite the intense heat, Clarkson decides to create a chilli sauce anyway, warning consumers to “come and have a go, if you think you’re hard enough.”

The episode also sees Clarkson and his girlfriend, Lisa, choosing to keep Pepper as a pet after she fails to breed, going against the advice of those around him.
