“Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic,” A CBS Special for Thurs December 21
On December 21, CBS will air a two-hour entertainment special called “Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic” to honor and celebrate the legendary career of actor and performer Dick Van Dyke on his 98th birthday. The special will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.
Dick Van Dyke, a Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award winner, is known for his iconic roles and contributions to the arts and entertainment industry. The tribute will take viewers back to the set of “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and feature music and dance performances, special guests, and a holiday number. The special will also include songs and archival footage from Van Dyke’s extensive career, including films like “Mary Poppins,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”
Van Dyke expressed his excitement about the special, stating that he has been with CBS for almost 70 years and is proud to be part of the network. The special is executive produced by Craig and Clara Plestis of Smart Dog Media, with Deena Katz as the casting and executive producer, Ashley Edens as the showrunner, and Van Dyke and his wife, Arlene Silver, as producers.
