The third season of CBS’s Ghosts comes to a close with “Isaac’s Wedding“, airing on Thursday May 2, which sees Isaac’s wedding day jitters exacerbated by the arrival of a surprise guest.

Isaac, a captain from the Revolutionary War, has been dating the ghost of Nigel, a man he accidentally killed. Isaac’s jealousy and snarky nature are a cover for his insecurities, and he longs to be well-known and admired. Isaac’s confession to Nigel about his feelings, and their engagement at the end of Season 2, demonstrated his growth as a character.

The season finale will likely see some storylines conclude while introducing new threads for Season 4. The show, adapted from the BBC series of the same name, has been renewed for a fourth season.

Ghosts follows Samantha and Jay Arondekar, a married couple who inherit a beautiful country house from Sophie Woodstone, Sam’s great aunt. They soon discover that the house is inhabited by ghosts from different eras of American history, including Isaac, Alberta, Pete, Trevor, Flower, Hetty, Thorfinn, and Sasappis. Jay is unable to see or hear the ghosts, but Sam can after a near-death experience.

In the previous episode, “The Traveling Agent”, Pete discovers a new power that brings him closer to Jay. Sam and Jay leave the ghosts alone for the weekend, leading to shocking revelations about two of the spirits. Alberta bonds with a poltergeist attached to a new guest, and Isaac and Nigel hold separate bachelor parties.
