Keith Urban Joins NBC’s The Voice Season 25 as Mega Mentor
Grammy Award-winning country singer Keith Urban is joining the twenty-fifth season of The Voice as the mega mentor. With over thirty years in the music industry, Urban has released eleven studio albums, collaborated with numerous artists across different genres, and garnered a string of impressive awards.
The new season of the four-time Emmy Award-winning show premiered on 26 February 2024, hosted—as ever—by Carson Daly. This series sees a star-studded coaching panel comprised of returning coaches Chance the Rapper, John Legend, and Reba McEntire, alongside newcomers Dan + Shay, country stars and the first duo to judge on the series.
The battles recently concluded, with the coaches whittling down their teams in preparation for the knockout rounds, which begin on 8 April. Each coach has one steal and one Playoff Pass, which sends an artist straight to the playoffs, skipping the knockout stage.
The knockout rounds will see the remaining contestants pair up and perform a song of their choice, after which the coaches will select one winner to advance to the playoffs. As mega mentor, Urban will offer his expertise and guidance to the artists across all teams, helping them to improve their performances.
According to Urban, the opportunity to mentor on the show was a “no-brainer“. The singer has appeared on talent shows before, as a coach on the Australian version of The Voice and a judge on American Idol, and he clearly relishes the chance to help aspiring artists.
*The Voice* airs on NBC and Peacock on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
