Oxygen’s Sin City Murders returns with a new episode, “Deserted in the Desert“, airing on Sunday, April 7. The show, hosted by retired detectives Jerry Stone and Jeffrey Lomprey, delves into chilling homicide cases that unfold in the glamorous yet treacherous world of Las Vegas.

Stone and Lomprey will recall a chilling discovery they made in the desert outside Las Vegas. On 26 October 2003, the Boulder City Police Department received a troubling 911 call from a concerned citizen, reporting that his son and he had seen a coyote digging something into a dry lakebed.

Officers were dispatched to investigate, and they uncovered a disturbing sight—a partially revealed body in a shallow grave. The victim, later identified as 17-year-old Nichole Elizabeth Yegge, had been reported missing two months prior. The investigation led to the arrest and conviction of Gabriel Yates and Anne Osburn, who were charged with Yegge’s kidnapping and murder.

The show will also explore the case of Esmeralda Gonzalez, a rising-star influencer with 300,000 followers, who went missing on 31 May 2019. Her brother, Juan Gonzalez Madera, took action when he noticed her unusual behaviour and her absence from home. Gonzalez’s boyfriend had taken her keys, raising concerns about her mental health. Security footage from her home showed her alone before leaving and never returning.

The investigation took a turn when an anonymous tip led police to Christopher Prestipino and his roommate, Casandra Garrett, who were eventually charged with Gonzalez’s murder. Prestipino, a stagehand at the Paris Hotel, had a criminal history related to drug use. Garrett’s statement revealed that Prestipino had panicked due to Gonzalez’s erratic behaviour, leading to a tragic chain of events.

The episode will showcase the intricate work of detectives as they piece together clues, analyse evidence, and pursue justice for the victims.
