Skye Wheatley Wins I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2024
After spending four uncomfortable weeks in the South African jungle, social media influencer Skye Wheatley has been crowned the winner of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2024. The reality star and former Big Brother contestant beat out fellow finalists Tristan MacManus and Callum Hole to take home the coveted title and a $100,000 prize for her chosen charity, Bully Zero.
The final three contestants, narrowed down from an initial group of 12 celebrities, endured weeks of grueling bushtucker trials and the notorious Viper Room challenge, which saw Wheatley face her fears of snakes. Wheatley’s victory came as no surprise to many, as she had been a favorite to win since the early stages of the competition.
Wheatley, a mother of two, gained a large following on social media after her appearance on Big Brother in 2014, where she placed third. She has since become one of Australia’s most influential fitness and lifestyle influencers, amassing over 600,000 followers on Instagram and 330,000 on TikTok. Her openness about her personal struggles, including her ADHD diagnosis, body image issues, and experience with bulimia, has resonated with viewers.
The 2024 season of I’m a Celebrity featured a diverse range of celebrities and showcased some of the show’s most memorable moments to date. One of the season’s most talked-about incidents involved Frankie Muniz, who quit the show midway through. Muniz, known for his role in Malcolm in the Middle, left the jungle after receiving a letter from home, citing his longing for his wife and young son as the reason for his departure.
Muniz’s early exit from the show did not dampen the season’s excitement, as the remaining contestants continued to face a series of challenging trials and surprising eliminations. The final three contestants, Wheatley, MacManus, and Hole, enjoyed emotional reunions with their families before competing in the “Wheels of Misfortune” challenge, a quirky bicycle race.
The season finale saw Wheatley, MacManus, and Hole reflect on their transformative journeys in the jungle. Wheatley, in particular, expressed her gratitude for the experience, stating, “I’m so blessed to have experienced that. I want to say thank you to everyone here for having me.” She also acknowledged the challenges she faced, saying, “I feel like the whole journey, the whole experience has taught me so many things, and I just can’t wait to apply them in my everyday life.”
