“Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings” New Format for Discovery Channel
Production on the new season of Discovery Channel’s “Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings,” which follows America’s fastest street racers, begins on June 1 in Ohio. The stakes have never been higher, what with the increased number of highly modified vehicles, the increased number of drivers, and the introduction of a fan-nominated team captain.
What will the new format of Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings be about
In the past three seasons of “Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings,” Ryan Martin, a top racer from the 405, has won the title. This year, however, the tables will be turned on No Prep Kings. The eight teams competing for the championship will not be comprised of individual drivers. Eight captains will choose their teams from a pool of forty or more drivers at the first race. The No Prep Kings Champion is the winning team from a series of 15 events played across the United States.
One more new wrinkle is that this year, out of the eight teams, fans get to vote on who will lead their squad as the People’s Choice Captain. Through an interactive experience that begins on Monday, April 24 and ends on May 31st @ 11:00PM ET on discovery.com/vote, fans can vote for their favorite team leader: Lizzy Musi, Robin Roberts, Daddy Dave, Jerry Bird, Scott Taylor, Jim Howe, Birdman, or Kayla Morton. The People’s Choice Captain will be announced shortly after polls close. In addition to the People’s Choice Captain, the seven returning team captains will be Ryan Martin, Shawn Ellington, Kye Kelley, Disco Dean Karnes, Justin Swanstrom, Mike Murillo, and Jermaine Boddie.
Who is making Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings
“Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings” is produced by Lionsgate’s Pilgrim Media Group.
