H.R. Pufnstuf (NBC 1969-1970, Jack Wild, Billie Hayes)

Children’s fantasy series H.R. Pufnstuf mixed live action with puppetry, made by the Sid and Marty Krofft stable the show featured then new star of Oliver (as the Artful Dodger) Jack Wild as young lad Jimmy who armed only with Freddy his talking flute goes sailing only to crash land on Living Island, a witch called Witchiepoo had designs on Freddy Flute and caused Jimmy to land on the island, however once there he was taken under the wing of a furry dragon called H.R. Pufnstuf.

Other residents on the island included midget cops called Cling and Clang, Blinky the Wise Owl and a human looking breeze called Four Winds.

Witchiepoo spent much of the show’s run (helped by her henchmen Orson the Vulture, Seymour the Spider and Stupid Bat) trying to get her hands on the flute. Jimmy’s friends did their best to stop her.
