If You See God, Tell Him (BBC-1 1993, Richard Briers, Adrian Edmondson)

Sitcom If You See God, Tell Him followed retired widower Godfrey Spry after he is involved in an accident which leaves him with an attention span of just thirty seconds. Just long enough to be taken in by TV commercials. Believing every word of them to be true.

His behaviour though is often bizarre and erratic, causing many problems for his relatives, particularly for Gordon (Adrian Edmondson) and Muriel (Imelda Staunton).

The title was a play on the British Gas privatisation advertisements about If You See Sid, Tell Him. It was also a play on the fact that Godrey’s name was shortened to God.
