Scripted by actor turned writer George Layton Executive Stress follows Caroline and Donald Fairchild as they try to keep the fact that they are married secret from the boss at the publishing company where they both work. Caroline has only just decided to re-enter the work force now that the kids have grown up and flown the coop and is lucky enough to get her old job back as editorial director of Oasis Publishing.
However Oasis have just been bought out by a larger American company and Donald who works for them now finds that Caroline is his immediate superior. Complicating matters no end is the fact that their boss, Edgar Franklin Jr, cannot abide having married couples on his team!
Geoffrey Palmer took the role of Donald Fairchild in the first season but was replaced by Peter Bowles for the second and third seasons.
Funny, cosy and with a theme tune written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber no less
