Glums, The (ITV 1979, Jimmy Edwards, Ian Lavender)

Sitcom The Glums detailed the exploits of a dour family.

Based on a long running and hugely popular sketch that appeared in the Take It From Here series in the fifties, season One (9×10 minute episodes) was part of the series Bruce Forsyth’s Big Night Out (7 Oct – 24 Dec 1978).

Season two was a full series with two stories per show, each adapted from the old radio broadcasts.

The Glums had also appeared twice briefly in 1962 in the Jimmy Edwards anthology series Faces of Jim.
