Strangers: Racing Certainty (ITV 4 Nov 1980, Maurice Colbourne)
Very much a continuation of the previous episode Racing Certainty sees Bulman and the team determined to avenge the deaths of the two detectives killed by the crooks out to bring down John Rutter, one of their own who they think has turned “grass”.
Bennett is finding it particularly tough because she had just become romantically involved with Casey who was one of the two cops killed.
Speaking to the TV Times (1/11/80) producer Richard Everitt explained how the production team staged their own race at Newmarket for one of the key scenes in the episode “we staged our own race after one day’s meeting was over, and invited the crowds to stay and watch to give our shots the necessary authenticity.”
