The Brothers: Celebration (BBC1 7 Nov 1976, Steve Ubels)

In Celebration Brian and Bill head off to Tehran for a recce mission but it looks like Paul has something up his sleeve as usual and with the new airfield and planes finally getting the go ahead Jane decides to throw a victory party at her flat. April is quickly coming to realise that married life to Paul is not going to involve spending much time with him and that he will be in Amsterdam when Jane’s party is taking place. She decides to go to the party anyway with a Dutch colleague of Paul’s as an escort, at the party David reveals to Ted that he is going to ask Jane to marry him.

Meanwhile Jenny reveals the source of her angst in that she has been summoned to appear in court on a dangerous driving charge. Paul then turns up late at Jane’s with the party in full to announce that one of the new C41’s has gone missing somewhere over the atlantic.

It’s looking like the relationship between Jane and Brian has fallen apart – leaving David the opportunity he has been waiting for. Liza Goddard as April has been a real breath of fresh air this season and her introduction has done a huge amount to round out Paul Merroney.
