The British ITV series Danger UXB, created by John Hawkesworth and starring Anthony Andrews as Lieutenant Brian Ash of the Royal Engineers, originally premiered in 1979. With thousands of unexploded bombs dropping on London during the Blitz, the fictional 97 Tunnelling Company is transformed into a bomb disposal unit. Like his fellow officers, Ash will have to learn the ins and outs of disarming and destroying UXBs through trial and error as he faces increasingly sophisticated and lethal technological advancements in aerial bomb fusing.
