Ugliest House in America, airing Monday May 6, on HGTV sees comedian and actress Retta tour three homes in the Northern region, all vying for a chance at a $150,000 home makeover from designer Alison Victoria.
The first home is a realistic stone castle, followed by a colourful house made out of concrete, and finally, a ’70s throwback with carpets galore.
Each property will be judged on its poor functionality, shocking design choices, and ugly appearance, with one house ultimately being crowned the “Ugliest House in America” by HGTV.
The lucky winners will then receive a show-stopping renovation, transforming their once-hideous abode into a dream home.
This season, Retta travels across the country, visiting homes with design challenges that range from mural monstrosities to garishly patterned wall-to-wall shag carpeting.
In previous episodes, Retta has uncovered a former preschool, a house shaped like a pyramid, and a pink-carpeted nightmare that resembles a cat condo.
With its focus on unique and questionable properties, Ugliest House in America offers a fun and entertaining take on home renovation shows, providing a glimpse into the world of gaudy designs and botched renovations.
Ugliest House in America airs Monday, May 6, 2024, at 9.00 pm on HGTV.
