Family Cooking Showdown Season 2 Episode 9 airs Saturday 10 June 2023 on BBC 2.

The three surviving families from the previous day’s challenge are put to the test once again in a head-to-head competition, this time preparing a shepherd’s pie without knowing which dish they will be cooking.

The second task requires the families to come back together to prepare a two-course meal featuring smoked haddock and chocolate. There’s a lot riding on Monday’s playoffs, when only two families will remain.

Back for another season is the competitive cooking show that honours the families behind the most delicious culinary creations. Over the course of three weeks, sixteen family teams compete head-to-head in the showdown studio kitchen. Contestants are judged by Angellica Bell, a previous winner of Celebrity MasterChef and author of a cookbook, and Tommy Banks, Britain’s youngest ever Michelin-starred chef. The teams’ ability to work together and think on their feet is put to the test in each episode by a pair of challenges, one of which they have had time to prepare for at home.
