Match of the Day 2, 5 May 2024, BBC One
Mark Chapman returns to present Match of the Day 2 on Sunday 5 May, bringing viewers the latest action and analysis from the Premier League.
The show will feature highlights from two key matches. First up is a clash between title-chasers Liverpool and Tottenham at Anfield. This fixture is significant for Jurgen Klopp, as it marks his penultimate home league game in charge of Liverpool. Historically, Liverpool have dominated this fixture, with Tottenham winning just two of their Premier League meetings at Anfield since 2011. However, Tottenham won the reverse fixture earlier this season with a 2-1 victory, adding an intriguing layer to this encounter.
The second featured match sees London rivals Chelsea and West Ham face off. West Ham will be keen to maintain their strong home record against Chelsea, having only lost one of their past six league meetings at the London Stadium. Previous encounters between managers David Moyes and Mauricio Pochettino have been close, with four draws out of five.
Elsewhere, there will be highlights from other Premier League matches, including Newcastle’s trip to Brighton and Manchester City’s encounter with Fulham. Newcastle will be looking to build on their recent improvement against Brighton, having won two of their last three meetings. In contrast, Manchester City will aim to continue their dominant record against Fulham, having won 14 successive fixtures across all competitions.
Match of the Day 2 airs Sunday 5 May 2024, at 10.30pm on BBC One.
