Later… with Jools Holland: Wet Leg, Joe Bonamassa, Obongjayar, Cat Burns (S60EP1 BBC Two Sat 14 May 2022)
Wet Leg, Joe Bonamassa, Obongjayar, Cat Burns: Jools is joined by Isle of Wight duo Wet Leg, who rose to prominence last year and recently released their critically acclaimed number one debut record, in a new performance space at the recently restored Alexandra Palace Theatre. After performing their viral hit Chaise Longue last autumn, they’re back on the show.
Another returnee is US singer and blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, who will perform a couple of songs in north London as part of his UK tour, as well as chat with Jools and choose a Peter Gabriel track from the Later… archive.
Obongjayar, a Nigerian-born London-based artist who has already appeared on tracks by Little Simz and Pa Salieu, is the first of two debuts in this new series. After a recent performance at the 6 Music Festival in Cardiff, he steps into the spotlight to perform a song from his debut album, Some Nights I Dream Of Doors.
And, like previous Later… debutantes Adele and Amy Winehouse, Cat Burns, a BRIT School alumna and south Londoner, is making her debut on the show with her Radio 1 playlisted and top three single Go.
