Saturday Kitchen, 27 April 2024, BBC One, “Ken Hom Special”
This special edition of Saturday Kitchen, airing on BBC One on 27 April, celebrates the career of culinary legend Ken Hom. Joining host Matt Tebbutt in the studio are chefs Ching-He Huang, Andrew Wong, and Tong Chee Hwee, who will be cooking up a feast for the special guest, Ken Hom.
A Culinary Icon
Ken Hom is a world-renowned chef, author, and television presenter, known for his expertise in Chinese cuisine. He has written over 40 cookbooks, including the best-selling Ken Hom’s Chinese Cookery, and has presented television series such as Ken Hom’s Chinese Cookery and Exploring China: A Culinary Adventure. Hom has also designed a range of woks and kitchenware, further solidifying his status as a culinary icon.
Ching-He Huang is a British chef, television presenter, and food writer known for her contemporary approach to Chinese cuisine. She has hosted several cooking shows, including Chinese Food Made Easy and Easy Chinese: San Francisco. Huang has also authored cookbooks such as “Ching’s Fast Food” and “Ching’s Everyday Easy Chinese.”
Andrew Wong is the chef-owner of the Michelin-starred restaurant A. Wong in London, which showcases modern interpretations of Chinese dishes. He is known for his innovative use of ingredients and has received numerous accolades for his culinary prowess.
Tong Chee Hwee is the executive chef of the award-winning restaurant, Hakkasan, in London. With a focus on contemporary Cantonese cuisine, Hwee has helped Hakkasan expand globally, receiving critical acclaim for its unique blend of tradition and innovation.
