Litvinenko Series Premiere (Sundance Now Friday December 16 2022)

Series Premiere: In four part thriller Litvinenko, ex-spy turned Kremlin critic turned British citizen Alexander Litvinenko (David Tennant, Doctor Who) is in a critical condition in a London hospital. He insists he was poisoned and accuses Russian President Vladimir Putin, so the police are called in to take his statement.

A short time later, Litvinenko passes away at home with his loved ones by his side. When it is determined that he was poisoned with polonium-210, the most lethal substance known to man, the gravity of the situation becomes apparent.

The police rush to secure potentially contaminated sites, while detectives dive into a high-stakes murder investigation, following their evasive suspects from London to Moscow.

Can the detectives bring justice to Litvinenko’s bereft family in the murky world of political power games and delicate international relations, where his widow Marina is fighting for the truth with honor and courage?
