What can we expect from this episode

In the fifth episode, we follow two women who are on a search for their siblings. One feels a strong desire to extend a warm welcome to the brother she has never met. The other longs to tell her brother and sister that she was adopted because their birth mother wanted them to have a better life.

Jeanette Woodyatt’s father revealed to her that he had an adopted son when he was young. He avoided his son because he didn’t want to interfere with his life, but he always maintained an open door policy. Jeanette found out that her brother had indeed visited after their father died, but that their grandmother had refused him entry. Jeanette has been searching for her sibling ever since, wanting to reassure him of the love and acceptance of his family.

At the funeral for their mother, Karen Turnbull’s mother revealed that she had twin half-siblings who were born when Karen was very young. Due to the instability of the home life at the time, Karen’s mother made the difficult choice to place her twins for adoption. Karen is determined to track them down so she can explain to them why their mother had to give them up. She has no idea that the twins have been on the lookout for her the entire time she has been searching for them.
