Midsomer Murders: A Grain of Truth (ABC TV Sunday 30 April 2023)
Midsomer Murders: A Grain of Truth airs Sunday 30 April on ABC TV.
The fictional English county of Midsomer is featured once again in Season 23.
Each episode follows DCI Barnaby and his loyal assistant DS Winter as they investigate mysterious crimes and learn more about the peculiarities of this charming but deadly county.
Tom Larkton and his wife, the pastry chef Chrissie, run a successful bakery out of a gorgeous, historic watermill in Lower Blissingham.
After her father passed away, Chrissie knew it was time to come home from London and continue her parents’ tradition of making organic flour at the mill that had been in their family for over two centuries.
Chrissie and Tom resurrected and rechristened the mill, bringing it up to modern standards by restoring the original machinery and installing a cutting-edge water turbine. Tom’s online vlog and masterclasses have made him a minor celebrity with a dedicated following, and the charismatic power couple running “Larkton’s Mill” appear to have it all.
Chrissie, however, has not been welcomed back to the village with open arms despite having spent her entire life there. There is resentment in Lower Blissingham because Larkton’s is so popular as a tourist destination. The stakes could not be higher, as many of the established businesses in the village are currently struggling and there are rumours that the Larktons have plans to expand.
When one’s livelihood is on the line, the need to safeguard it can overwhelm other considerations.
Midsomer Murders: A Grain of Truth airs Sunday 30 April 2023 at 8.20pm on ABC TV.
