Old People’s Home for Teenagers Episode 4 (ABC TV Tues 20 September 2022)
It’s time to work out this week! The objective of the game is to increase everyone’s step total while having fun. Van Marinos, an exercise scientist, joins the team as the main motivator.
Van wants the group to move the rest of their bodies after stretching their legs. Safely back in the Intergenerational Community Centre there’s no rest for young or old with a game of exercise bingo.
Before anyone has a chance to notice that they are still working out, a giddy group of diminutive personal trainers burst through the door.
Surprise – it’s some very familiar pre-schoolers! Jax, Ruby, Tyrone, Michaela, and Aiden return from the first experiment and Maddie, Lottie, Maximillian, Neve, and Arthur are back from the second season.
The week’s physical climax is a bright and colourful chalky mess, otherwise known as a colour walk. A challenging course for many of the elderly, so the teenagers’ role is to provide support and encouragement and cop the brunt of the technicolour celebration. Surprisingly, Maureen motors her way through the course and inspires everyone else to have fun too.
Even Philip, who has continued to work through bouts of low mood during the experiment, has the greatest time and crosses the finish line with a run!
