Twenty-three million people enter the United Kingdom annually through the county of Kent, most of them en route to other parts of the country. Chris, a native son, now appreciates his home county in a new light. After learning about the North Kent marshes’ mysterious history, he comes to appreciate their stark beauty in a new light.

Ellie sails to Kent’s most remote outpost, while Denise abseils off the white cliffs of Dover in search of a rare plant that Kentish peasants risked their lives to harvest 500 years ago.
