The first round presented a diverse range of categories, including “Husbands & Wives,” “Japanese Cities,” “Lawful Quotations,” “Pluralize, Please,” “Fore & After,” and “The Lightning Round.” Amy demonstrated her strategic thinking early on by adding $1,000 to her score with a Daily Double question in the “Husbands & Wives” category, which pertained to the marriage between Pocahontas and John Rolfe.
As the game progressed, the contestants navigated through a variety of topics in Double Jeopardy!, with categories such as “Poetry for Thee,” “Buried at Arlington,” “Science Stuff,” “Pop Culture Initials,” “R 2 D 2,” and “Beep, Boop, Beep.”
Matt made a bold move by doubling his score to $4,000 with a Daily Double question in the “Science Stuff” category, while Amy further extended her lead by answering the second Daily Double question in the “Buried at Arlington” category, adding $1,500 to her score.
Heading into Final Jeopardy!, Amy had established a strong lead with $17,700, followed by Dan with $10,200 and Matt with $4,000. The final clue in the “Geography” category tested the contestants’ knowledge of North American volcanoes, with “At 14,410′, it’s one of North America’s highest volcanoes; a Puyallup name for it can be translated to “bring the water”.
Both Amy and Dan provided the correct response of “What is Mount Rainier?”, with Amy adding $2,800 to her score, bringing her three-day total winnings to $58,195.
In a close finish, Dan ended the game with a score of $20,399, just shy of Amy’s final score of $20,500. Matt, who answered incorrectly in Final Jeopardy!, finished the game with a score of $2. The episode featured an exciting display of knowledge and quick reflexes, with Amy’s consistent performance securing her victory once again.
