Springwatch: Week Two Day One airs Monday 5 June 2023 on BBC Two

The second week of Springwatch promises to be amazing. Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan give us an update on what’s happening at RSPB Arne in Dorset, where the dramatic nests unfolded over the weekend.

Iolo Williams has relocated further afield and will be broadcasting live from Corfe Castle, where a pair of peregrines have made themselves at home in the crumbling castle’s uppermost ruins. Iolo investigates the fallen materials very far from the nest for any clues about the parents. He’s also on the lookout for the wall lizards that have made the fortress their home.

Gillian Burke’s journey across the country continues as she reaches the Menai Straits and investigates the region’s rich wildlife.

In addition, we discuss a topic that is rarely discussed but is all too real: the persecution of raptors.
